Welcome to the ExstreamDialogue.org forums.
If you have any questions or problems with the registration process, please see below for more details.
Terms of ServiceThese message boards are intended as an independent, unmoderated arena in which to discuss Exstream Dialogue. While the opinions expressed on the topic are unmoderated, that does not mean that we are not keeping an eye out for abuses of the system. Any member may report any post, private message or user to the administration using the report button, located below each post.
Any inflammatory, illegal or offensive behavior is subject to revision or deletion and the author may be subject to censure or removal. While such behavior has not been an issue in the 6 year history of exstreamdialogue.org, it is important to keep in mind. Additionally, any assistance in identifying abuse of this or any other nature is extremely helpful and greatly appreciated.
With some common courtesy and consideration from everyone, we can keep the discussions here open, lively, unmoderated and civil, as has always been the case.
RegistrationThere are three stages of registration. Fortunately, they're all quite simple and easily completed.
1.
Register. Using the
Register link located in the header, footer and navigation bar, you'll be taken to a simple form to fill out with your basic information. We'll just need to ask you for a user name, company and a valid email address.
Additionally here's a brief, visual confirmation code (to filter out automated scripts - aka. "spambots" - for privacy and convenience of our users) and you'll have to read and agree to the Service Agreement in order to sign up. Everyone who receives an account will have had to agree to those terms and will be bound by them. Please read them carefully, as they are important.
2.
Activation. At this point, your account has been created but is not yet enabled. First you will be sent an email with a link to activate your account. This is a standard method of verifying someone's email address. In order to get access to the forums, you will have to be able to read the email which you claim as your own - which is hardly an unreasonable request. Once you've received the email, you can simply click on the link sent to you and a page will come up informing you that you have successfully activated your account.
At this point, you are now an active, registered user of these forums with reading and posting rights to the public areas, such as Site Information and Confirmation. Congratulations.
3.
Confirmation. The majority of the forum is accessible only to those users who can be confirmed as being customers - and therefore users - of Exstream Software's Dialogue. Simply put, we will submit your name and your company name - as entered during registration - to HP for them to confirm that you are a valid user of Dialogue.
If you sign up from a personal or anonymous email service such as GMail, yahoo, hotmail or the email address provided by your internet service provider: We will have to ask you to provide an alternate email address from a readily identifiable domain name so that we can confirm your company affiliation. For example: Anyone can register and claim to be from ACME software (a hypothetical company which has a valid Dialogue license), but we'll need to ask you for a
your_name@acme.com email address so that HP can confirm that you are in their database of Dialogue users. The forums - and any outgoing email from them - will still go to the email address you used to register. We simply need to confirm a company address once before we can continue.
As has been the case in the past, the confirmation process is carried out manually by a staff of administrators and is dependent on a response from HP. While we will get your account confirmed in the most timely fashion possible, please allow up to 5 business days in case of an unexpected shortage of resources. If your account goes unconfirmed after that time, you may leave a request in the Confirmation forum and you will be contacted with additional information.
